Impact Exhaust Leak for Mazda

This bulletin applies to 2013-2016 Mazda CX-5 vehicles.

This bulletin applies to 2013-2016 Mazda CX-5 vehicles. Some vehicles may exhibit a check engine light on with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P013A:00 stored in memory. This indicates a slow response (during the transition from rich to lean). The concern may be caused by an impact from a speed bump or other source, causing a deformation of the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the converter.

If a leak is detected at the gasket, replace the gasket with a modified gasket P/N PEY5-40-305, and replace the two nuts P/N 9994-61-000. Be sure to tighten the nuts to 51 Nm (37.6 ft-lb).
