Jan. 13, 2022

In “rare cases,” the brake pedal might not raise back up or is stuck down after a normal braking event on 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX or 2013-2015 XTS vehicles.

In “rare cases,” the brake pedal might not raise back up or is stuck down after a normal braking event on 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX or 2013-2015 XTS vehicles.

The condition may occur in high temperature and humidity conditions and may not be repeatable. The brake lights will remain on and the brakes may drag after the pedal is released.

A pop, click or snap noise may be heard when the pedal is applied or released. If the concern is intermittent, allow the vehicle to idle for 30 minutes on max heat and floor mode to try to induce the concern. The condition may be due to a bind in the brake pedal pivot bushing.  Replace the brake pedal arm. Be sure to use the two new retaining clips that are included with the new arm.
