The warning light may be on, accompanied by diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0141 (oxygen sensor heater performance). The fix involves reprogramming the PCM with the latest software. The software level must be at 15.02 or higher.

Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM).

Is the vehicle equipped with a manual transmission? If yes, fully depress the clutch pedal and then release it and push OK to continue. If no, simply push OK to continue.

Is the vehicle equipped with cruise control? If yes, depress the cruise on/off switch until the cruise indicator in the cluster illuminates and push OK to continue. If no, simply push OK to continue.

After PCM reprogramming, clear any DTCs that may have set. The expected completion time for the flash download is about five minutes.
