This bulletin applies to 2013-2014 Audi A4, A5, A5 Cabriolet, A6, Q5 and TT vehicles equipped with a 2.0 TFSI engine. The customer may note a reduction of power. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P029900 (turbo/supercharger under boost) may be stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01).
The circlip connecting the turbo wastegate actuator rod and the wastegate flap level can fall off due to low clip tension. If this happens, the wastegate linkage becomes disconnected. Clips are now available that provide improved material with higher tension.
Visually check the wastegate linkage to see if it is disconnected (a mirror or borescope may be needed). Remove the catalyst, according to ELSA instructions, to gain access to the wastegate linkage. Reconnect the linkage using a new circlip N 0124394 (referred to as lock washer linkage, vacuum unit 8mm).
