Transaxle Rattle for Toyota

Some 2009-2011 Toyota RAV4 vehicles equipped with a 2AR-FE engine and four-speed automatic transaxle (two-wheel and four-wheel drive) may exhibit a rattle noise from the transaxle assembly between 25-35 mph.

The engine control module (ECM/PCM) logic has been revised to address this condition. Reprogram using software version 5.10.029 or later. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature before test driving. Reset the transaxle memory prior to test driving (refer to TIS service manual).
