This bulletin applies to 2016-2017 Honda Pilot Touring and Elite vehicles. Because of a transmission case casting flaw, the inside of the torque converter bracket hole in some 9-speed automatic transmissions is porous enough that ATF could leak from the hole. As a temporary fix, the factory installed a sealing bolt in that hole.

The casting issue has since been resolved and later castings don’t have this issue. If you order a reman transmission and the serial number is higher than Q5NB0116449 (2WD) or higher than Q5NC0133827 (4WD), you will have the revised transmission and no sealing bolt is needed.
