Fixing BMW Water Pump

This bulletin applies to 2012 7-Series BMW vehicles. A pulsing or droning noise may be heard from the engine area of the vehicle. The auxiliary water pump or the water hoses that lead from it may be in contact with adjacent components, or the auxiliary pump may be installed incorrectly on the rubber mount.

This bulletin applies to 2012 7-Series BMW vehicles. A pulsing or droning noise may be heard from the engine area of the vehicle. The auxiliary water pump or the water hoses that lead from it may be in contact with adjacent components, or the auxiliary pump may be installed incorrectly on the rubber mount. Harmonic vibration from the auxiliary water pump is being transferred through the bracket that supports the pump.

Remove the auxiliary water pump and remove the original water pump bracket. Install the new water pump equipped with the modified bracket. When reinstalling the pump, ensure that the connecting hoses do not come into contact with adjacent components. The new auxiliary water pump with the modified bracket is available as P/N 64 11 9 253 081.
