Smoothing Jaguar Vibrations

This bulletin applies to Jaguar F-Pace, XE and XF vehicles equipped with a 2.0L diesel engine. The vehicle may experience excessive vibration when stationary at idle and/or showing DTC P245B-84. The cause may be the engine mount not switching into idle condition.

Inspect all vacuum lines for connection/damage. Disconnect vacuum hose connection directly at the engine mounts and vacuum test the engine mount. The engine mount should switch before 0.4 bar of vacuum is pulled and then be able to hold the vacuum for 1 minute. There is an audible “pop” as the mount switches. If the mount does not hold vacuum, replace it.

Disconnect the vacuum hose at the solenoid and test system vacuum. If it is unable to hold vacuum, check each hose until the faulty hose is found.
