Bad Exhaust Weld

Some 2013-2019 Ford Explorer vehicles equipped with a 3.5L twin independent variable camshaft timing (Yi-VCT) engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction lamp with DTC P013A and/or P013C stored in the PCM.

This may be due to an improperly welded exhaust Y-pipe.

If replacement is needed, the Y-pipe is available as P/N DB5Z-5G274-B. Two gaskets are required under P/N 7T4Z-9450-AA, and four M10 nuts under P/N W714265-S441.
