Dodge Loses its Cool

This bulletin applies to 2018 Dodge Caravan vehicles built on or after Dec. 10, 2017, and on or before Jan. 22, 2018. The customer may note that purple coolant is found on the ground. The issue may involve a leaking coolant recovery bottle.

Confirm that the coolant level in the recovery bottle is at least 1-inch above the rubber hose plastic bottle nipple. If not, add coolant and run the engine for 5 minutes. Shut the engine off.

Using a paper towel, reach down to the connection between the rubber recovery hose and the coolant recovery bottle and inspect the towel for coolant.

Again using a paper towel, reach down to the bottom side of the recovery bottle and inspect the towel. If coolant leak was found in either location, replace the recovery bottle.
