This bulletin applies to 2011 BMW 535i – F10 vehicles equipped with the 8HP45/70 transmission. The transmission may enter safety mode with the transmission lamp illuminated.

The EGS gear monitoring fault 420321 94E9B) “2nd gear to gear X” is stored in the Mechatronic control module.

The EGS software requires correction, reprogramming using ISTA/P 2.41.1 or later.

After reprogramming, clear transmission adaptation values. Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software.
