GM Ajar Message

This bulletin applies to 2013 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles built before 9-6-2012. The customer may experience an intermittent theft deterrent alarm, horn or hood ajar message.

The “hood open” message may turn off after cycling the ignition switch. Adjusting the hood latch likely will not fix the problem.

The condition is caused by moisture within the hood latch switch. It is recommended that the hood latch switch be replaced.
