This TSB involves a caution regarding installation of an automatic transmission and/or Park-Neutral position switch assembly in select Lexus vehicles.
Applicable vehicles include:
2006 GS300 with 6AT
2007-2011 GS350 with 6AT
2006-2007 GS430 with 6AT
2010-2012 GX460 with 6AT-F
2003-2009 GX470 with 5AT
2006-2012 IS250, IS350 with 6AT
2010-2012 IS250C, IS350C with 6AT
2004-2006 LS430 with 6AT
2003-2007 LX470 with 5AT
2008-2012 LX570 with 6AT
2006-2010 SC430 with 6AT
If the manual shift lever is rotated prior to installing the Park-Neutral position switch, the detent spring may become detached from the manual shift lever. When performing automatic transmission and/or Park-Neutral position switch service on the models listed, make sure that the manual shift lever is NOT rotated prior to installing the Park-Neutral position switch.
If the detent spring becomes detached from the manual shift lever, remove the detent spring and reinstall on the manual shift lever.
Do not attempt to force the manual shift lever into position with the detent spring installed, as this may damage the spring. The detent spring must be removed when repositioning the manual shift lever.
- Remove the transmission oil pan.
- Remove the detent spring.
- Reposition and install the detent spring on the manual shift lever.
- Reinstall the transmission oil pan.
- Install the Park-Neutral position switch.
