This bulletin applies to 2012-2013 Dodge Ram 1500 and 2500 trucks, built before May 10, 2013, equipped with either the 4.7L or 5.7L engine and automatic transmission.
The transmission pump may emit a whine, howl and/or humming noise at speeds below 30 mph and engine speeds between 1,200-1,500 rpm. This may be caused by harmonics at the transmission cooler lines.
The fix is simple. Install one foam sleeve from kit P/N 68217310AA on each cooler line between the metal crimp fittings. Ensure that the slit in the foam tubing is installed facing downward. Secure each of the foam tubing sleeves with three tie straps (supplied in the kit).
