Chevy’s tech center (TAC) has received several calls in regards to intermittent DTCs C0460, C0461 (steering position sensors). C-187 (lateral accelerometer circuit range/performance), C0196 (yaw rate circuit) and/or C0252 (VSES sensor uncorrelated). Initial investigation has found that the forward engine harness routed from the EBCM, underneath the inlet air breather box and across/down the transmission, may have several points where it may come into contact with the transmission stud or A/C line, creating a short to ground.

Inspect the complete forward engine wiring harness and repair as needed. Wrap protective tape inside and outside the conduit. The harness should be re-routed to avoid contact with the A/C accumulator, transmission mounting studs and/or any sharp edges.
