ACOFAS to produce service opportunities and training days before HDAW '16

The American Council of Frame and Alignment Specialists (ACOFAS) will organize and present “Service Opportunities Learning Days”, or SOLD16, prior to the official opening of HD Aftermarket Week.

The American Council of Frame and Alignment Specialists (ACOFAS) will organize and present “Service Opportunities Learning Days”, or SOLD16, prior to the official opening of HD Aftermarket Week.

Now in its fourth year as an industry event, the SOLD program will be held Jan. 24 to 25, the Sunday afternoon and Monday morning before the official opening of HDAW ‘16. This unique program is specifically designed for independent service shop owners and management, as well as distributor companies that are considering entering the truck service business. 

SOLD consists of a professional educational program that features a mix of management and technical training focused on increasing the value and competiveness of the independent service provider. 

An established Advisory Council is in place to assure a top quality and relevant service related program for this important and growing element of the commercial vehicle industry. The SOLD Advisory Council consists of members of ACOFAS, ADS,HDRG, CVSN, HDA TruckPride, HDMA, Power Heavy Duty, SSA, Vipar, all premier industry associations.

ACOFAS is an association of independent heavy truck repair establishments that seek training programs for technicians and mid to top level management. ACOFAS training programs for shop management consist of OSHA, Department of Labor, Department of Transportation (CSA), and EPA regulations which impact repair facilities and employees. 

Technician training programs consist of under-chassis topics such as: three axle alignment, axle correction, chassis frame straightening, air and hydraulic brake diagnostics, electronic engine wiring and component diagnostics, and many more. Top management topics have included business transition, continuation and sale. ACOFAS conducts two training programs annually and holds its Annual Business Meeting during HDAW.

In its eleventh year, Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week is the only independent aftermarket industry event of its kind. HDAW is an annual business to business conference, developed by a Joint Operating Committee of 13 industry organizations, to inform, educate and strengthen the independent heavy duty aftermarket parts and service industry. The HDAW JOC provides the planning and execution of the annual four-day event. ADS, ACOFAS, AEA, CVSN, HDA TP, HDDA, HDMA, HDRG, ITPA, OAC, Power HD, SSA, and VIPAR HD Parts are all members. The event is co-owned and operated by CVSN, HDDA and HDMA as event organizers.

The HDAW program includes world-class Product Expo, Distributor education program, pre-scheduled one on one meetings and a full range of networking receptions, breaks and meals. HDAW is traditionally held the last week of January, at The Mirage, Las Vegas had a record year and had over 2,350 distributor and supplier executives in attendance for the 2015 conference.
