Aftermarket eForum offer solutions to critical issues May 22 and 23 in Rosemont, Ill.

April 12, 2013
Sessions to address automotive technology challenges.

The Aftermarket eForum™, May 22 to 23, at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill., offers answers to the technology challenges of today and tomorrow, the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association announced. The breakout sessions of day two, scheduled to run 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and repeat at 10 a.m., address three distinct technology challenges that every aftermarket company experiences – supply chain management, B2B e-commerce and aftermarket implementations of telematics.

The breakout sessions at eForum are each led by subject matter experts joined by co-presenters who will take the themes of day one presentations and put them into a form anyone can take home and put into practice. The three sessions offered at eForum will address:

  • Supply Chain Management – Rod Bayless, Epicor Software, will be joined by representatives of ACDelco, Tenneco and Uni-Select as they explain the impact of channel visibility and data warehouse tools on the total cost of inventory and supply chain.
  • The ROI of B2B E-Commerce - Joe Register, Prescient Technologies, will be joined by representatives of GCommerce, Auto-Wares and Standard Motor Products as they explain in laymen’s terms how to get started with applications of Web Service technology to automate parts inquiries and transactions, while reducing transaction time and cost.
  • Drafting Your Telematics Roadmap – Fred Blumer, Vehcon and co-founder of Hughes Telematics, will build upon the themes of his keynote on day one to provide some practical advice on how to confront the connected car. Blumer will be joined by executives from NexTraq and PassTime USA who will describe the aftermarket telematics solutions they have innovated and the niche markets that are available opportunities today.

The Aftermarket eForum™ breakout sessions are designed to be fast-paced interactive workshops with lots of opportunities for attendees to ask questions and engage with the presenters. eForum planners have scheduled topics that resonate with many aftermarket executives, and structured sessions that give business and IT people an opportunity to collaborate on solving the challenges of business today.

The eForum is the only industry conference dedicated to helping aftermarket business people and their IT colleagues discover and plan solutions to technology challenges they all confront. This year eForum is co-located with the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) and the proceeds from both events benefit the Aftermarket Scholarship Fund. Register for both GAAS, May 21 to 22, and eForum, May 22 to 23, at the same time and save $250 over the cost of the two events separately. Together, GAAS and eForum offer almost three days of inspiration, education and networking for the price of one flight and hotel stay.

Registration and additional information about eForum can be found at www.aftermarket.org/eforum. Rooms at the Hyatt Regency are available at the group rate of $177 through April 19.
