DriveCam, Inc., a global driver risk management company, today announced that Predestination Transportation will roll out the DriveCam solution to its entire fleet. With safety being in the forefront of Predestination’s culture, DriveCam reinforces best safety practices to protect its drivers and vehicles. As a result of implementing the DriveCam Program, Predestination saw the number of total coachable events drop 73 percent, while unbelted drivers decreased 90 percent and posted speed violations decreased 44 percent.

“We’re excited that Predestination and members of its captive insurance group, FSRM, recognize the power of the DriveCam Program”

“Members of our captive insurance group, FSRM, experienced great success with the DriveCam Program so we decided to test it on a portion of our fleet,” said Richard Toya, Director, Transportation and Safety, Predestination Transportation. “We immediately saw driver behaviors we never expected – not wearing seatbelts, using cell phones, rolling stops and running through red lights – and realized we had accidents waiting to happen.”

“The DriveCam Program acted as a wake-up call – for us and our drivers,” commented Predestination Safety Director, Bobby Yancey. “We communicated with our drivers to let them know that we were implementing DriveCam’s program to help sharpen their skills, keep them safe and protect them if they got involved in an accident that was not their fault. They appreciated this approach, along with the opportunity to be acknowledged when they did the right thing.”

“We’re excited that Predestination and members of its captive insurance group, FSRM, recognize the power of the DriveCam Program,” said DriveCam Senior Business Manager Adam McCarty. “As evidenced by the results, DriveCam’s Program is helping Predestination to identify potential problems before they happen and provide immediate coaching to address them, leading to better drivers who are rewarded for their safe driving practices.”

The DriveCam Program addresses safety by combining data and video analytics with real-time driver feedback and coaching, resulting in reductions in cost and fuel consumption. Through a patented, iterative process of scoring, prioritizing and tracking the results of driving behaviors, DriveCam’s Driver Science Engine identifies behavioral improvement opportunities for increased safety. In-cab video captures driving behavior, which is objectively reviewed and scored, then passed on to the fleet for use in coaching drivers.

Fleets manage the DriveCam Program through DriveCam Online, a web-based online portal. Seamlessly integrated into DriveCam’s DC3 video event recorder and the DriveCam Online reporting solution, DriveCam’s Fuel Management Solution combines real-time, in-cab feedback with online reporting and coaching to improve fuel efficiency – by up to 12 percent – and lower emissions. Unlike other vehicle-centric fuel solutions, DriveCam’s solution focuses on the driver – specifically on the three driving behaviors that have the greatest impact on fuel efficiency: efficient or “smooth” driving, idling and speeding.
