• NHTSA considers new rules for seat belt-ignition interlocks

    NHTSA rejects petition to skip crash test requirements if seat belt interlocks installed in front seat.

    The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will conduct more research before it allows automakers to install seat belt-ignition interlocks in order to skip crash tests designed to protect unbelted motorists, according to The Detroit News.
