March 18, 2022
Innovations do not happen by accident. Consider these three tips to spark innovation in your shop.

Innovations do not happen by accident. It's important to listen to your customers and staff to continuously improve in the industry. When looking at your automotive shop, consider the following tips to spark innovation:

  1. Embrace “learning moments”: Big wins don’t happen with ease. Re-frame “mistakes” as “learning moments” that are important steps on the path toward substantive innovation.
  2. Innovate big and small: Not all innovation needs to be disruptive. Even small changes around a shop can make a big difference to improved safety and efficiency and productivity.
  3. Encourage ideas from all levels: Good ideas can come from anywhere, not just from the top. Consult younger technicians to get a better understanding of where existing processes can be improved. Creating a culture where employees are encouraged to offer suggestions can not only boost morale but foster continuous improvement.
