Crescent/Wiss introduces offset straight snips

Snips are designed to keep hands away from metal being cut.

Crescent/Wiss, a brand of hand tools from Apex Tool Group, announced its new Offset Straight Snips, No. M8OS. These snips have been designed for safety and performance, allowing users to cut sheet metal more safely with offset blades that keep hands clear of the work while cutting.

Compound lever action, combined with serrated blades, cuts up to 18 gauge steel with 20% less effort, the company says. Blade serrations grip the material and spread the cutting force across the blade. The snips have extended single-material ergonomic grips and a latch that can be opened or closed with one hand.

“These Offset Straight Snips are not only the safest Crescent/Wiss has to offer, they are the toughest,” said Kevin Burnet, product manager. “Engineered to cut up to eight miles of 18-gauge steel, they are built strong and made to last.”

The new snips are available now in-store and online from hardware retailers and home improvement centers, from online retailers and from industrial and commercial distributors.
