Technicians who hold ASE automotive certifications and have the ASE renewal app may now receive a one-year extension for topics A1-A9 that are set to expire on Dec. 31.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) renewal app is designed to make it easy for technicians to renew their ASE certifications without having to take time off or going to a secure test center for testing.

The app simply sends one question per certification area each month. Technicians can view the question at their convenience and answer within the allotted timeframe. For every correct answer, the technician will receive a point. Once enough points have been earned, the certification will be renewed for one year.

The app can be accessed using the web app on a PC or the mobile app a cell phone or tablet. It is important to note that the renewal app is not a replacement for traditional certification testing.
