Midtronics has announced the opening of a new, expanded China headquarters facility in support of the company’s ongoing commitment to global growth. With a much larger footprint, including a laboratory with drive-in facilities, the new Midtronics Shenzhen Technical Center enables Midtronics to expand its capabilities in the growing China market, while also better serving its existing Asia Pacific customer base.

The facility also broadens the company’s technical focus on emerging advanced battery applications and technologies on a global basis and fosters new partnerships in mission-critical stationary power applications.

“The Shenzhen Technical Center will help Midtronics advance battery management with our customers in the Asia Pacific region,” said Steve McShane, President and CEO of Midtronics. “Our investment in key resources creates value for our customers and drives our growth in these markets. We make it a priority to collaborate with our global customers to provide strategic battery management solutions.”

Midtronics China was established in Shenzhen in 2003 and since has built a strong customer base in both transportation and stationary power battery management. With the added space in the new Shenzhen Technical Center, Midtronics will significantly grow its China-based engineering and technology development teams, as well as service operations for system installation and deployment. New production capabilities will also enable the company to more quickly and efficiently supply Midtronics products throughout the Asia Pacific region.

The opening of the Shenzhen facility continues the company’s history of global expansion and responsive support for its customers worldwide. Beyond the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, all of which are supported through the global headquarters in the Chicago suburb of Willowbrook, Ill., the company also maintains a European headquarters in Houten, Netherlands serving the EMEA region. Work is currently underway to establish a major engineering and sales/marketing team in Japan as well.
