In this advanced tutorial, several real world oscilloscope waveform captures will be presented, according to ASA Midwest. These waveforms will include tests that involve using an array of different scope accessories to help an automotive diagnostics technician pinpoint the cause of an engine misfire. Attendees will also learn how to verify if the Powertrain Control Module's OBD II system is actually identifying the correct cylinder during misfire analysis. This presentation will cover a variety of testing methods and tactics, including using "pulse" waveform analysis. Attendees will even learn how to build their very own "pulse" probe.

Topics will include:

  •  Primary and secondary waveform analysis
  •  Fuel injector testing
  •  Low current probe testing
  •  High current probe testing
  •  In-cylinder pressure transducer testing
  •  Tailpipe "pulse" misfire analysis
