Some 2014 Ford Explorer, Flex and Taurus vehicles equipped with a 3.5L gasoline turbocharged direct injection (GTDI) engine and built on or before February 20, 2014, may exhibit a raw fuel type odor that is most noticeable near the intake manifold.
Remove the intake manifold and replace the high pressure fuel tube. It is not necessary to remove the fuel injection pump to perform this procedure.
