Subaru offers an improved transmission control valve assembly for some models.

Subaru offers an improved transmission control valve assembly for 2010-2017 Legacy and Outback, 2014-2017 Forester, 2012-2017 Impreza, 2013-2017 Crosstrek (except HEV) and 2015-2017 WRX models, equipped with a TR580 or TR690 CVT transmission.

The new valve body is designed to prevent false detection of DTC P0841 and/or illumination of the AT temp light. Testing has revealed in some cases that air bubbles may enter certain pressure circuits within the valve body, causing fluid pressure control and adjustment to be calculated incorrectly. The control valve assembly for TR690 transmissions is 31706AA034 or 31706AA142 (depending on the model). A valve kit for TR580 transmissions is 31825AA052 or 31825AA071 (again, depending on the model).
