Technicians can learn electrical troubleshooting tips in a free webinar on Feb. 25th presented by Motor Age.

Pete Meier and G. Jerry Truglia will present “Electrical Troubleshooting by The Numbers – Advanced Electrical Testing for the Professional Technician” at 6 p.m. Eastern on Feb. 25. The webinar is sponsored by Mitchell 1.

The course starts with recognition that the first step in successful electronic diagnostics is making sure the technician’s foundation of electricity is sound. When you take a voltage measurement with your voltmeter, do you really understand what you’re measuring and what the measurement means when isolating an electrical fault?

The second step in diagnosing is understanding how to make use of an electrical wiring diagram – and there’s a difference between reading the schematic and tracing the lines on paper. At least half of the diagnosis can be done before even picking up a testing tool.

And the third step is knowing your tools and how to use them, and that includes a Digital Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM) and Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) and their related accessories.

The free webinar will cover all of this and more. Sign up here.
