Application

The M12 Underbody Light is designed to deliver handsfree lighting to automotive applications where light sources are difficult to reach, such as underhood or underbody applications. The extended reach arm and degrees of articulation allows the tool to be mounted behind and out of the way to decrease shadows cast between the tech and his work.

Origin

Milwaukee Tool is dedicated to understanding issues and frustrations for automotive professionals. While observing technicians working under vehicles, they noticed the techs would commonly hold a flashlight in their mouth or spend time propping up a flashlight to illuminate their workspace, all to keep both hands free to do the determined repair. They also noted them making multiple trips back and forth from their toolbox to grab a different tool or spending valuable time searching where they placed a nut or bolt in the repair process. The company took these observations and worked with their design team to develop a solution, the M12 Underbody Light.
