BendPak Inc. says all of its Ranger tire changers and wheel balancers have earned ETL certification and meet North American safety standards.

"Intertek Testing Services, a nationally recognized test lab, independently vetted the equipment and validated that it meets all electrical, pneumatic and mechanical safety requirements to ensure operator protection and workplace compliance," say BendPak officials.

"Certification marked the culmination of an 18-month BendPak project to overhaul and redesign critical internal components and safety systems to meet the stringent standards. The effort involved sweeping upgrades to electrical architecture, structural components, and mechanical and pneumatic systems."

BendPak officials say operator safety was a major focus throughout the project.

"Pinch-point protection, moving components, electrical and fire hazards, pressure systems and other potential risks encountered during everyday tire and wheel service were carefully assessed. Where existing designs did not meet the required criteria, components were redesigned or replaced, systems were reconfigured and additional safeguards were incorporated. 

"Every modification then had to withstand rigorous testing before the finished equipment could achieve certification."
