MOOG has expanded its line of MOOG premium control arms with improved metallurgy and other enhancements designed to increase strength and durability.
MOOG®, the industry-leading steering and suspension brand of Federal-Mogul Motorparts, has expanded its line of MOOG premium control arms with improved metallurgy and other enhancements designed to increase strength and durability. The company will showcase the expanded range of products at its booth (#3217) at the 2018 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas.
MOOG premium control arms are manufactured from high-strength steel or alloys and are engineered to ensure OE-level fit, easy installation and long-lasting performance. These control arms feature service life-increasing enhancements such as MOOG Problem Solver® premium ball joints and include patented MOOG vertical control arm bushings, where applicable. Other noticeable characteristics of these products are MOOG branding, date codes and part numbers for ease of identification. "MOOG continues to upgrade its range of premium steering and suspension products for the aftermarket, improving upon our designs and developing new, innovative solutions that enhance performance, durability and overall customer value," said Kevin Kolath, Director, Product and Business Development, Steering and Suspension, Federal-Mogul Motorparts. "Our expanded range of premium control arms are designed to ensure the long-lasting performance that MOOG customers have come to expect, and at the best absolute value for our customers and consumers." MOOG premium control arms include a premium Problem Solver ball joint to help ensure exceptional lubrication and, in some cases, an integral dust boot with a grease-relief valve that allows for the flushing of dirt and other contaminants, along with a patented Gusher Bearing that lets grease easily flow through the bearing surface for reduced friction and improved durability. Other features include an improved forged housing and a hardened stud with grease grooves. Many new MOOG premium control arms also feature patented MOOG vertical control arm bushings designed to eliminate constant rubber expansion and compression that can result in premature failure of the control arm. MOOG bushings are engineered to reduce suspension noise while also resisting splitting, discoloration and cracking as they age. MOOG Premium Control Arms are manufactured exclusively at three Federal-Mogul Motorparts facilities, including the company's expanded plant in Boaz, Ala., which produces more than 1 million control arms each year.
