Sunday May 28 was the closing day of Autopromotec, the international exhibition of automotive equipment and aftermarket products. The attendance figures disclosed by the organizers were 113,616 professional attendees, which is 9,627 more than the previous edition (+9.26%). 90,061 of these are from Italy, versus 23,555 from abroad, with an 8.06% increase in the number of Italian trade professionals and a 14.09% increase in the number of international ones. The show also hosted 422 specialized journalists, 33.4% of whom were from abroad.

Information and training received intensive coverage thanks to the meeting schedule provided by AutopromotecEDU, the think tank for closer examination of the latest trends and innovations in after-sales services. During the five show days, the event hosted 93 meetings, which involved 2,900 sector experts and registered record-breaking attendance figures.

Digital traffic figures at this year’s Autopromotec were positive: the official website recorded 182,609 unique visitors and 1,950.542 page views. The Autopromotec presence on social media was particularly lively, involving an increasing number of users who followed live the 2017 edition of the show.

Autopromotec CEO Renzo Servadei said: “The incredibly high attendance numbers totaled this year encourage us to continue to work along these lines, maintaining high quality levels for exhibited products and themed meetings (in the frame of AutopromotecEDU). The leading aftermarket companies that attended Autopromotec 2017 also provided a great boost to the successful results achieved by the show, and overall data show that this sector is growing strong”.

Autopromotec Brand Manager Emanuele Vicentini said: “The growth in foreign exhibitor and, mostly, visitor figures accelerated, this strengthens Autopromotec as global event in the international automotive trade fair scenario. The project of alliances with various associations is beginning to give the first concrete results. The challenge now is to enhance internationalization of the Autopromotec brand”.

Every edition has a “silver thread” that helps auto repair professionals to identify current trends to choose the kind of products and services that will soon be necessary for their business. One of this year’s highlights was Officina 4.0, an event that saw renowned automotive experts discuss the future of auto repair shops. The project, developed in collaboration with Accenture, also featured a 30-minute virtual tour of a future repair shop that attracted considerable interest: all scheduled sessions were booked out, for a total of 1,460 visits.

The next edition of the Autopromotec show will be held 22 – 26 May 2019 - Bologna Trade Fair Center.
