The 2nd edition of ACMA Automechanika New Delhi successfully concluded its four-day run on March 1, 2015 reinforcing its position as a leading networking and sourcing platform for India’s auto component and aftermarket.

Mirroring the return of growth in the automotive sector, ACMA Automechanika New Delhi witnessed an enthusiastic response from auto part majors, the aftermarket and business visitors on the whole. The exhibition, which featured a total of 436 exhibiting companies from India and foreign contingents from Brazil, China, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Poland, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, the UAE, the UK and the USA, saw key industry players expressing satisfaction on the government’s budget focus on infrastructure development including roads and power, education, skilling, infrastructure development, ease of doing business and attracting investments.

The exhibits on the show floor were a representation of the latest products in mobility, vehicle maintenance and up-keep. With over 20 companies choosing this platform to unveil new products and component lines, ACMA Automechanika New Delhi became an ideal showcase for new products and technologies for the aftermarket in the region. 12,861 business visitors from India and abroad visited the show, creating new records as compared to the last edition of the show in 2013. Several exhibitors and trade visitors have confirmed on closing sizeable business deals.

ACMA’s ‘Asli Naqli’ Pavilion and Messe Frankfurt’s ‘Against Copying’ campaign not only aimed at educating aftermarket professionals about disadvantages and risks involved in using fake parts for vehicles; it also allowed visitors to evaluate components and distinguish real from fake, enabling them to make well-informed procurement decisions.

Among the key highlights of the event, a white paper on Transformative Technologies of Future Cars was presented by Frost & Sullivan on day two of the exhibition during the concurrently held ACMA Automechanika Seminar. The seminar presented comprehensive insights on next generation of electronics & safety systems and managing cost of innovation from an esteemed panel of 18 speakers from India, Germany, the UK and the USA. Additionally, the first ACMA Global MSME Summit: “Make in India – Evolving Manufacturing through Globalisation” was organized which focused on Indian small and medium enterprises and the evolution of global MSMEs in terms of entrepreneurial ability, technology upgrades and innovation. The session also provided an opportunity to understand business openings in adjacent industries like Off-Highway Vehicle, Urban Transport System, Defense (Indigenisation) and Agricultural Machinery.

The next edition of ACMA Automechanika, focusing purely on the needs of the growing Indian aftermarket will be scheduled in February 2017 and will continue to present opportunities in the aftermarket as well as address industry concerns on counterfeit products sold in the replacement market.
