LLumar Automotive Safety and Security Film is designed to provide protection against unexpected events, including side-impact collision and smash-and-grab theft. The multilayered, optically clear film (also offered with tint for solar protection) adheres to standard auto glass. This added layer of protection helps to prevent flying shards from injuring passengers in side-impact collisions and thwarting thieves from quick, easy break-ins.

Earlier this year, LLumar Automotive Safety and Security Film made international headlines for its performance in an independent test conducted by the DEKRA Automobil Test Center in Klettwitz, Germany. Side-impact tests showed dramatic results: when hit with a simulated 16 kph pole impact, the untreated glass shattered and flew into the test dummy's face and body, while the glass treated with LLumar 7-mil safety film was completely contained by the film.

LLumar Automotive Safety and Security Film will be on exhibit at SEMA, and an interactive display will allow attendees to test the product and learn about the film's other benefits. Another key safety element of the film is that it supports side-airbag systems by preventing airbags from being forced through shattered glass, deterring passenger ejection through broken windows. LLumar Automotive Safety and Security Film is also available in a solar-control version that blocks 99 percent of damaging UVA and UVB rays, reduces heat gain, and filters glare.
