2007 SEMA Show Preview
This year's SEMA Show features 11 separate categories of exhibits, grouped for easy buyer access. Categories range from racing and performance products to mobile electronics and from restoration parts to truck and SUV components. Jobber/retailers can check out the latest version of the My Show Planner on the www.SEMAshow.com Website. It's an easy-to-use organizer that allows show attendees to add listed onsite events such as seminars, meetings, breakfasts, and luncheons to their own schedules for the show.
The site also contains a comprehensive listing of Show exhibitors that includes the company's products or services, the street or mailing address, telephone numbers, Website address and even the all-important SEMA Show booth number.
This year the My Show Planner includes a Match Maker function that allows registered jobber/retailers to search the SEMA Show exhibitor database by company name, product, market segment and other demographics. Exhibitors need not worry, as the information on the site is confidential to prevent misuse or spamming. These functions are also tied into the database for the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) exhibitors during the Aftermarket Industry Week (AAIW), so jobber/retailers can communicate with all exhibitors for both venues.
New Product Showcase
For 2007, more than 1,200 products are scheduled to be unveiled for the first time at the SEMA Show. In addition to the new products on display at the exhibitor booths, there is also the New Product Showcase where the new products are displayed in an array of glass cases that are more than seven feet tall. The new products are displayed by market type such as Off-Road/ 4-Wheel Drive, Performance-Street, Performance-Racing, Mobile Electronics and so on.
Product information sheets are available in small bins outside of each case, providing pertinent technical and contact information. Following the show, digital images of the new products will be available at the SEMA Website.
Education
In addition to the thousands of products on display, the SEMA Show offers jobber/retailers a selection of informative seminars, which run from Monday through Thursday. The seminars are aimed directly at the retail market and include such topics as "Counterman Training," "Merchandise Displays That Sell," "Selling on the Retail Floor," and many more. A complete list of the seminars is available at www.SEMA Show.com.
A last-minute check of the schedule is recommended.
