Diagnostic Intelligence: ALLDATA's new AI diagnostic tool

The tool combines OEM repair information, real-world repair data, and AI-assisted insights to help technicians diagnose vehicle's more efficiently.

ALLDATA has launched Diagnostic Intelligence, a guided diagnostic solution that combines OEM repair information, real-world repair data, and AI-assisted insights in a single workflow. Designed for technicians of all skill levels, the tool starts with a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or vehicle symptom and provides prioritized probable causes, known fixes, OEM diagnostic procedures, shortcut tests, and related service information.

The workflow also integrates access to TSBs, wiring diagrams, and other repair information. Diagnostic Intelligence is available to users with an active ALLDATA Repair or ALLDATA Collision subscription.

A word from ALLDATA

Satwinder Manget, president of ALLDATA, explains what kind of AI is used in ALLDATA's Diagnostic Intelligence and what it has to offer technicians working through vehicle diagnostics.

"The value of AI in diagnostics is not simply adding a large language model to a repair workflow," he says. "A general-purpose AI can provide information, but its answers are only as good as the context it receives. In automotive diagnostics, accuracy matters, and that's why context is everything.

"AI tools like ALLDATA’s Diagnostic Intelligence combine advanced AI with ALLDATA's extensive repair knowledge base, including decades of OEM repair information, proven diagnostic procedures, historical repair data, and insights from similar vehicle issues. By grounding AI in this specialized knowledge, the system can provide guidance that is far more relevant, actionable, and reliable than a general AI model operating on broad internet knowledge alone."
