ASA of Arizona offers early-bird discount for training class

Early-bird registration for the Automotive Service Association (ASA) of Arizona’s Tech Day & Cookout ends Aug. 30. Before Aug. 30, the cost is $245 for class, handouts, lunch and the cookout. After Aug. 30, the cost is $295.

Early-bird registration for the Automotive Service Association (ASA) of Arizona’s Tech Day & Cookout ends Aug. 30. Before Aug. 30, the cost is $245 for class, handouts, lunch and the cookout. After Aug. 30, the cost is $295.

The training class will be held in Phoenix on Oct. 12 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cookout will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The class will focus on learning how network topography (design and construction) can be used to isolate network communication failures.

Part 1 of the class will identify and help techs understand terms and definitions of network hardware and construction. Part 2 will be devoted to Controller Area Networks (CAN). Part 3 will focus on “CAN in the Real World, Waveforms and Lab Scopes: Disturbing Nodes, Software Faults, ‘Babbling’ Nodes, Hardware Faults, and Interconnect Faults (EMI and RFI).” Part 4 will concentrate on “Applications for specific OEM Versions and Case Studies, including scan tool usage, DTC’s, U Codes and what U Codes mean, pinpoint testing, isolation and verification.”
