J.R. Sacks, a customer-service manager for Standard Auto Parts, a Baltimore-based Auto Pride member, has been named a grand-prize winner of a trip to the Team Texas High Performance Driving School in Ft. Worth.
The contest was part of the “Rev Up & Win Challenge” promotion sponsored by the Four Seasons division of SMP, according to Steve Tucker, vice president of Auto Pride.
“I’m pleased that a longtime employee like J.R. will experience the ride of a lifetime through another successful promotion with one of Auto Pride’s valued manufacturer partners,” Tucker said.
The unique racing experience took place Oct. 7, 2011, on the high banks of the Team Texas oval speedway. Valued at $1,400, Sacks participated in three 10-lap segments in an authentic NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car, including instruction and drafting maneuvering with a partner.
“Driving a race car around a track at high speeds has been on my bucket list for years,” said Sacks, who started as a counterman for Standard Auto Parts more than two decades ago. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I’m happy to scratch off my list.”
The Automotive Distribution Network operates under the brands of Parts Plus, IAPA, Auto Star, Auto Pride, CMB and Network Products.
