DYK Automotive acquires Robert Elgart & Son assets

DYK Automotive, LLC announced the acquisition of the assets of Robert Elgart & Son, a Philadelphia-based distributor.
DYK Automotive, LLC announced the acquisition of the assets of Robert Elgart & Son, a Philadelphia-based distributor. As a result, Robert Elgart & Son will join the DYK Automotive family of companies which includes AP Auto, Keltner Enterprises, Superior Automotive, and Twinco Romax to create one of the largest national distribution networks of automotive retail products in the aftermarket. The DYK Automotive family of companies supplies a broad array of national and company-owned brands of oils, chemicals, accessories and parts for the automotive and heavy duty aftermarkets.

Robert Elgart & Son is a wholesale distributor of automotive appearance and accessory items, and has been servicing the automotive industry since 1948. The company sells primarily to customers on the East Coast.

"The acquisition of Robert Elgart & Son is a strong complement to our current business," says Dan Ribnick, CEO, DYK Automotive. "It further strengthens our position as a national automotive aftermarket distribution and manufacturing company with a commitment to maintaining a strong regional presence."

DYK Automotive also announced today that its new manufacturing plant in Wilmington, Del. is nearly completed and that product has begun to ship from the facility. This new state-of-the-art production plant further grows the company's manufacturing division which includes locations in Milwaukee, Wis. and West Memphis, Ark. 

In 2011, DYK Automotive announced the opening of its Newark, Del. distribution center, strategically located on the I-95 corridor.

"With the opening of the Wilmington plant, the acquisition of Robert Elgart & Son, and the existing resources of our Newark distribution center, we have solidified our strong presence in the mid-Atlantic and northeast regions of the country," explains Ribnick. "We are proud to service customers in the continental United States with one to two day delivery service."

DYK Automotive stocks over 400 brands across nine manufacturing and distribution facilities with nearly 1 million square feet of space.  The company's distribution centers service customers in all 50 states, and fulfill orders for its expanding international business.
