CCC Crash Course publication examines 2008 with insight into 2009
CHICAGO – CCC Information Services Inc. has release the 2009 edition of Crash Course, an in-depth look at of business forces from 2008 that were catalysts for change and the impact they may have on the collision industry in 2009.
“The U.S. and global economies are now in the midst of a tough recession, with several economists predicting a slow and painful turnaround,” said CCC Lead Analyst Susanna Gotsch. “All of the information we’ve gathered indicates that insurers and repairers will certainly be impacted. Some of the contending factors include lower premiums – an aging vehicle fleet potentially leading to more total losses; and greater industry competition – companies meeting demands for operational excellence or risk survival.”
In the electronic publication, Gotsch examine opportunities for companies that can adapt and learn how to change their business models in order to surpass companies not willing to do the same. In addition, CCC says its research shows that “customers will be increasingly sensitive to price from the marketplace, while continuing to demand the same, or better, level of service.”
“Companies will need to be even more aware of variances among their customer base (by age, demographics, employment situation and geography) than potentially ever before,” said Gotsch. “Using this information to change and grow their business will help companies in this very difficult economic environment.” For an electronic copy of CCC Crash Course, go to www.cccis.com and click on Crash Course 2009.
