ALLDATA introduces new Repair Planner enhancements for collision repair shops

New features help collision repair facilities identify OEM-required procedures, improve repair documentation, and create more complete repair plans.

ALLDATA, an AutoZone company, has announced new enhancements to its ALLDATA Repair Planner platform designed to help collision repair facilities identify OEM-required procedures, strengthen repair documentation, and streamline the repair planning process.

Repair Planner connects OEM repair information directly to the estimating process, allowing users to import estimates from the CCC Secure Share Network or upload estimates from Mitchell and Audatex. The platform helps shops identify manufacturer-required repair operations, attach supporting OEM procedures, and document research throughout the repair planning process.

When used alongside ALLDATA Collision, Repair Planner helps technicians and repair planners reduce time spent searching for information, identify commonly overlooked operations, and develop repair plans supported by OEM documentation.

New features support more complete repair planning

The latest Repair Planner enhancements are designed to simplify the research and documentation required for modern collision repairs. New capabilities include:

  • Downloadable repair documentation: Allows users to compile relevant OEM repair procedures into a downloadable PDF for inclusion in the repair file.

  • OEM articles on estimates: Enables repair planners to attach applicable OEM articles directly to estimate line items to document required repair operations.

  • Article tracking and audit trail: Records viewed OEM articles, users, and timestamps to maintain a history of repair research.

  • Estimate Assist: Helps identify commonly overlooked estimate line items to improve repair planning, reduce liability, and support OEM compliance.

"Collision repairers should not have to choose between efficient planning and access to complete OEM information," said Satwinder Mangat, president of ALLDATA. "ALLDATA Collision provides the unedited procedures shops rely on, while Repair Planner brings that information directly into the repair planning process. These enhancements make it easier to identify manufacturer-required procedures, document why each operation is necessary, and give technicians the information they need to complete the repair correctly."

OEM information supports accurate collision repairs

As vehicle technology continues to evolve, collision repair facilities must account for increasingly complex materials, electronics, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Access to vehicle-specific OEM procedures is essential for identifying required operations and completing repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

According to ALLDATA, 76 percent of collision shops use ALLDATA Collision as their primary resource for repair procedures. The platform provides access to unedited OEM repair information, including mechanical and diagnostic procedures, ADAS Quick Reference, and OEM position statements.

Integrating this information with Repair Planner allows shops to incorporate manufacturer requirements directly into their estimating and repair planning workflows, helping reduce research time and improve communication with insurers.

"When I came back to ALLDATA, it was for one reason, and it was for the Repair Planner," said Tony Holguin, general manager of Elk Grove Certified Collision Center in Elk Grove, California. "Before, we would spend 20 minutes to an hour searching for procedures, depending on the job and the make and model. Now I can spend two minutes to 20 minutes, depending on what we need."

Attendees of the 2026 SEMA Show can learn more about ALLDATA Collision and the latest Repair Planner enhancements at booths #31061 in the Upper South Hall and #11145 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, Nov. 3-6.
