Green Automotive Company announced that its subsidiary, Newport Coachworks Inc., has delivered its first highly innovative, All-American Freedom 40' bus to its customer Don Brown Bus Sales Inc. on the 17/06/13.

This is a part of the contract with Don Brown, one of America's leading bus retailers, to deliver 432 buses over 24 months.

Newport Coachworks' Freedom 40' is a "next generation" design built using the M2 Freightliner platform that is very popular in the high-end shuttle bus segment of the market. It incorporates many technological innovations including certain key components being made out of advanced composite materials, which are lighter and stronger than traditional materials used in bus construction.

The newly finished Freedom line represents the highest level of quality, durability and finish available in a shuttle bus. The bus features a number of weight saving innovations, which can increase passenger numbers or reduce fuel consumption. The bus floor is made of composite material, which is 3 times lighter than the traditional plywood used by other manufacturers, and never rots. The construction of the frame for the bus features laser cut roof rails, again reducing weight and improving fit and finish. The Fibreglass production uses a unique and proprietary system, which reduces resin content from the more normal 60 percent to a much lower 22 percent, reducing panel weight significantly; making panel thickness extremely consistent and generating a much smoother finish.

Satisfaction is optimised for the operator, driver and passengers, with luxurious hand stitched leather seats providing outstanding passenger comfort. In a Freedom 40', the driver is also treated to the same luxury seating as the passengers. In addition, every window has its own full length blind and like all Newport Coachworks buses, the Freedom 40' features a unique touch screen driver interface to control all functions.
