Jackson Heating & Air recently switched 20 vehicles to propane autogas through Alliance AutoGas, which provides clean fueling and vehicle conversions as part of a complete program to help fleets run on autogas. Force 911 performed the autogas vehicle conversions at Stanford Automotive in LaGrange, and Alliance founding partner Blossman Gas provides propane autogas fuel supply. Operating company trucks and vans on autogas will reduce fuel costs and greenhouse gas emissions, benefitting both their customers and the environment.

"Making the switch to autogas was a smart decision for our fleet," says Dale Jackson, co-owner. "Not only is autogas better for the environment than gasoline, it will ultimately save the company thousands of dollars on reduced fuel and maintenance costs, a savings which in turn will be passed on to our customers."

Jackson Heating & Air converted Chevrolet Express vans, Silverado trucks and GMC Sierra trucks in their fleet to autogas. Co-owner Ben Jackson says they discussed the propane option for about five years and, after extensive research, recently decided to move forward with the change. The autogas program is a practical way to clean up LaGrange's air by utilizing a domestic fuel that's available, now.

Autogas-powered fleets like Jackson Heating & Air help reduce our nation's dependence on foreign oil because 98 percent of the U.S. autogas supply is made in America. Propane autogas produces significantly fewer harmful pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions than gasoline, and many autogas fleets report their vehicles require less maintenance because it's a cleaner fuel. Autogas is more affordable to implement and offers better range compared to other alternative fuels like compressed natural gas.

"Propane autogas is the most viable fuel for fleets because it's clean, cost effective and American made," says Derek Whaley of Alliance AutoGas. "It's also significantly less expensive to convert vehicles to autogas and to install fuel stations compared to other alternative fuels, which makes autogas a smart option for small business fleets like Jackson Heating & Air that want to switch to alternative fuel."
