A technology company focused on resolving issues in data privacy, Privacy4Cars, has released a Vehicle Privacy Report that allows consumers and auto dealers access to key privacy facts that manufacturers collect on a vehicle.
Each report consists of two important pieces of information: the Vehicle Label, which is a set of 10 standardized clickable icons that synthesize the data collection, sharing, and selling practices of vehicle manufacturers; and the Vehicle Privacy History, which lists the known actions that businesses have taken to protect the privacy of their customers.
Auto dealers can utilize the Vehicle Privacy Report on their sales sites to help communicate the data practices of auto companies for the vehicles on their lot.
According to Privacy4Cars, the report outlines the personal information the vehicle manufacturer discloses that it collects. This information includes identifiers, biometric data, geolocation, data from synched phones, and user profiles.
These reports are free and take a few seconds to populate when you have the vehicle's VIN. For more information, visit Privacy4Cars.
