Driven Brands announced that a Meineke customer, John Coppin, won a 1972 Corvette Stingray in celebration of Meineke’s 50th anniversary. Coppin is a Colorado Springs resident and the Safety and Security Director and Dean of School at New Summit Charter. Students at the school cheered him on when he received the car on Thursday, Dec. 1. Meineke also donated $5,000 to the school.

Winning the car was emotional for Coppin, who grew up bonding with his father, John Sr., over his 1971 Corvette Stingray, which was eventually sold to a museum. Adding to the specialness of it all, the prize Corvette is white and blue, the same colors as the one Coppin’s father maintained for many years.

Coppin, a Meineke customer for 40 years, has been overjoyed since getting the car. He and his wife enjoyed their first ride in it, and he also joined the local Corvette club. “There’s something sentimental about these classic cars,” Coppin said. “I’m grateful to Meineke. They have played a huge role in making a lifelong dream of mine come true.” 

Ryan Tracy, chief executive officer of Barren Troy Holdings, owns 14 Meineke locations across Colorado. A Meineke owner for 12 years, Ryan was pleased to learn that a local customer had won. “We take a lot of pride in Meineke being part of the Colorado community, and John winning the Corvette is really a full circle moment for him and our Meineke family.”

The Corvette giveaway contest ran during the month of August. Any customer who received service at a Meineke during that time was eligible to win, and John Coppin was the random lucky winner!

Earlier this year, Meineke gave away a yellow 1972 Corvette to a franchise owner, Janet Cummings of Houston, who’s been part of the Meineke family for decades.
