'Let's Get to Work' program helps workers pay for auto repairs

The program was established to help workers overcome transportation barriers that inhibit them from driving to work.

In Springfield, Mo., the 'Let's Get to Work' program was established to help workers overcome transportation barriers that inhibit them from driving to work, according to Ozarks First News.

After the Springfield Workforce Development Department received $30,000 from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks earlier this spring for transportation needs, the department was approved by City Council to ask for a $60,000 grant for the Let's Get to Work initiative.

The Let's Get to Work program will offer money for auto repairs and maintenance, as well as money for gas cards, bus passes, or rideshare services.

So far the program has helped roughly 30 individuals. The majority of the requests have been for gas cards and auto repairs, noted the news source.
