Fleet Maintenance and PTEN magazines awarded for editorial excellence

SouthComm Business Media's Vehicle Repair Group is keeping up its tradition of award-winning content with two editorial award wins.

SouthComm Business Media's Vehicle Repair Group, which is comprised of Fleet Maintenance, Professional Tool and Equipment News (PTEN) and Professional Distributor magazines, is keeping up its tradition of award-winning content with one national and two regional editorial award wins.

The American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) conducts one of the most competitive award competitions for business publications, the Azbee Awards of Excellence. The awards honor high quality reporting, editing and design.

This year Fleet Maintenance Editor-in-chief Erica Schueller was awarded a National award, as well as a first place Regional Gold award, for the feature "How to conduct a technician skills competition." This article first appeared as Fleet Maintenance's December 2017 cover story.

"Erica Schueller’s win in her first year as editor-in-chief is an outstanding example of Fleet Maintenance's continued commitment toward providing our readers with the resources they need to maximize vehicle uptime," Group Publisher Larry Greenberger said.

In addition to Schueller's win, Barry Hoyland, Professional Tool and Equipment News (PTEN)'s contributing editor, was awarded for one of his monthly Tool Briefing columns, "Addressing an intermittent A/C issue." This column first appeared in PTEN's February 2017 issue.

"Hoyland brings great technical knowledge to the team as a technician, shop owner and technician instructor," Greenberger said. "I am really glad his work has been recognized."
