This bulletin applies to 2019-2020 Ram 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, 2500 pickup and 4500 Cab Chassis vehicles. The bulletin involves reconfiguring the BCM and possibly a radio reset, to enable the auto-on comfort settings to work properly.
The customer may comment that if below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, the heated seats or heated steering wheel turns on by themselves. If above 80-degrees F, the vented seats may turn on by themselves, and they cannot turn off the auto-on comfort feature.
Use a scan tool to locate any DTCs. Record and repair as needed before proceeding. Keep the battery charged between 13.2 and 13.5 volts during the reflash.
Place the ignition in the run position. Using wiTECH, perform a vehicle configuration, under the “Activities” menu and “Guided Diagnostic” tab. Place the ignition in the off position, disconnect the wiTECH Micropod and open and close the driver door. This will allow all modules to go to sleep and should take about one minute.
Clear all DTCs that may have set due to reprogramming. Verify the “Auto-On Comfort” feature by going into the radio “Setting>Auto-On Comfort.” You should see a setting with a single check mark to enable or disable the Auto-On Comfort feature.
