March 12, 2018
The reviewer says this tool is lightweight and quiet for increased user comfort.

The Mighty-Seven 3/4" Drive Composite Impact Wrench, No. NC-6266, offers 1,500 lb-ft of maximum reverse torque. This tool weighs 6.5 lbs and features a comfortable grip and trigger, grease port for easy maintenance and seven spring-loaded rotor blades. The wrench also has a 360-degree swivel air inlet designed to improve overall performance and durability.

The review

When using a tool such as an air impact wrench on multiple projects per day, every day, it is important for the technician to be able to maintain some level of comfort.

Phillip Huffman, manager at AAA Car Care Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, found that he could comfortably use the Mighty-Seven NC-6266 3/4" Drive Composite Impact Wrench day after day.

One of the major factors contributing to the air impact wrench's ease of use is the lightweight design. According to the manufacturer, it weighs just 6.5 lbs.

"This air gun is so much lighter," Huffman says. "My other 3/4" [air impact wrench] weighs about 4 lbs more than this one. So when using this for a long time, this air gun is much easier on your hands, arms and back."

But being light in weight does not mean that this tool is light on power, according to the reviewer. "The power on the M7 is unbelievable," he says, adding that it has all the power that "a 3/4" air gun should have."

Another factor contributing to the air impact wrench's usability is its sound output. "The sound level is one of the best that I have used," says Huffman. He notes that the sound level is much better than that of the other 3/4" air impact wrench he regularly uses.

Huffman also mentioned that the "length is great," making the tool easier to maneuver and fit into tight spaces.

As far as setup goes, Huffman notes that changing the air fitting to match the shop's system was all that needed to be done. After that, the air impact wrench was ready to use.

Included in the box is a user's manual and warranty guide.

Huffman used the NC-6266 on bus lug nuts, and noted that it "also works great with crankshaft pulleys and everyday shop use."

The only potential improvement that the reviewer noted would be to add "impact rubber around the front and back of tool."

Overall, Huffman was impressed with the NC-6266's lightweight design, its quiet operation and its ample torque.
