ZF Aftermarket announced the yearly ZF/ASE Aftermarket Master Automobile Technician of the Year Award to Thomas TJ Anderson at BLVD Autoworks. This is the third ASE Technician Award ZF Aftermarket has sponsored at the ASE Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet. The award recognizes an experienced technician in the field who represents high-quality training, automotive skills, and the importance of continuous education.

“We happily congratulate Thomas on receiving this award because it extends much further than being an amazing technician,” said Dirk Fuchs, technical training manager, ZF Aftermarket. “This award embodies the desire to adapt to an ever-changing industry, as well as honors the outstanding maintenance and repairs award winners provide.”

For more than 40 years, Anderson has worked in the automotive industry and has spent the last 20 years at BLVD Autoworks. Leading up to his career as a now Master Automotive Technician, Anderson began his education at the Dunwoody Industrial Institute where his father, who is also his mentor, graduated. Along with being ASE certified, he was the runner up of the ACDelco Technician of the Millennium in 2000, a past General Motors Master, and a Mazda Service Guild Member.

As someone that is hands-on, Anderson decided he wanted to become a technician because he wanted the ability to fix his own cars. Outside of work, he woodworks and metalworks items he needs, as well as for other people. He loves the challenges associated with repairing vehicles and enjoys helping others with their vehicle or household problems.

“ZF Aftermarket encourages the continuation of education in the automotive industry to adapt to the new technologies and challenges we face. Our technical training department strives to form connections with technicians so we can create a community all across the country,” said Fuchs.

ASE has been honoring technicians in the field for over 30 years. ZF Aftermarket is proud to join the many other companies honoring technicians and all they do for the automotive industry.

To qualify for the ZF/ASE Aftermarket Master Automobile Technician of the Year, the winner had to be ASE Master Auto certified and have taken one or more tests in the automobile test series in any administration in the preceding 12 months and must have the highest average passing score on the A2, A4, A5, and A6 tests taken in the last 5 years.
