TruStar Energy, a leading developer of compressed natural gas [CNG] fueling infrastructure throughout the US, is excited to announce the contract award to build a large time-fill/public fast-fill CNG fueling station for Kimble Recycling & Disposal, Inc., in Canton, Ohio.

The station will be built to time-fill up to 55 Kimble refuse trucks overnight – while allowing public fueling at their Bolivar Road location in Canton, said Kimble director of operations, Keith Walker.

"At present, all of our trucks at our Canton location are filling offsite, which means we lose efficiencies," said Walker. "We are excited to have them fuel at our new station - using our gas."

Walker was alluding to the fact that Kimble owns and operates over 600 gas wells in Ohio and uses that gas to fuel their expanding garbage truck fleet.

The Canton station represents the second CNG fueling station for Kimble – and the second time they've looked to TruStar Energy to design and develop the infrastructure. Kimble's first station was built about three years ago at their Twinsburg, Ohio location. That station, a large private time-fill station was designed to fuel 65 CNG-powered garbage trucks overnight.

"We really would have built a public station at our Twinsburg facility, but our yard wouldn't facilitate a public fueling option," said Walker – adding that the Canton facility was designed specifically to accommodate large third-party vehicles as well as room for his own fleet to fuel – via the 55 time-fill hoses.

"We're very excited to be back in Ohio building another station for Kimble Companies," said Scott Edelbach, TruStar Energy Vice President of Sales. "Any time you get the opportunity to build a second station for an existing customer is exciting. What's even more rewarding is that Kimble is helping to expand the public fueling CNG infrastructure throughout the country."

Edelbach said they are seeing a growing trend where more and more fleet owners are investigating the potential of offering public fueling as part of their station design – which is a win-win for fleet owners and the general public as well.

Edelbach said TruStar Energy construction crews will break ground sometime late in September and the station is scheduled to be pumping gas by December.

"Converting from diesel to CNG is a game changer for enhancing the profitability of transportation operations," said TruStar Energy President Adam Comora. "Fuel savings from 30 percent to 50 percent create significant value for fleet operators and their partners. Natural gas is better for the environment, better for domestic energy independence and better for the bottom line – truly a win-win-win solution."

Comora said TruStar Energy's growth is being driven by being the preferred partner for companies desiring to convert their fleets from diesel to CNG. Given the significant cost savings, "speed is of the essence" in order to capture these cost savings as quickly as possible. TruStar Energy delivers cost effective and on-time CNG fueling solutions.

Walker said that Kimble believes in CNG and are currently planning to build another public fueling station in Dover, Ohio. "We like CNG and know it pays for itself. The cost savings per DGE when compared to diesel more than pays for the cost of the station.
